Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to independently perform core service tasks, maintaining alarms in compliance with codes and standards. The role involves interpreting drawings and specifications, and working with testing equipment on various sites.

The technician will travel to commercial, industrial, and construction environments, provide guidance to entry-level technicians, and ensure safety and high-quality service across branches.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3+ years in fire and life safety as a technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, components, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks.
• If Driving Role: Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm systems independently.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
• Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
• Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform required tasks.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
• Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and inspection records.
• Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
