Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Service Technician to independently service fire alarm systems across commercial, industrial, and construction environments. You will diagnose issues, interpret drawings, and complete reports while upholding codes and company policies.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting, independent task management, and effective customer communication. A high school diploma and 3+ years in the field are required; NICET is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3+ years in fire and life safety as a technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems and troubleshooting methods.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm systems independently.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
• Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
• Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform required tasks.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
• Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and inspection records.
• Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Identify potential system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
