Job summary

Guardian Fire Protection Services, LLC is hiring an Apprentice for the Fire Alarm division in Rockville, MD. The role offers hands-on training to become a licensed Fire Alarm Technician, with opportunities to work on diverse alarm systems and customer sites.

We seek hard-working, hands-on individuals ready to learn a growing trade in fire protection. The position is hourly, with potential quarterly bonuses and overtime premium after 6 pm to 5 am, subject to experience and interview results.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required and driving record acceptable for testing and field work.
• Three years of licensed driving experience required.
• Experience using a variety of hand tools.
• Willing to work varied hours, nights, early morning and weekend shift when needed.
• Capable and willing to learn about different alarm systems to pass tests and become certified.
• Must be comfortable working on ladders 6 to 12 ft and on lifts.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in tight spaces.
• Strong communication skills with customers and ability to document work clearly.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform installation, maintenance and service work on fire alarm systems.
• Develop knowledge of alarm systems to support testing and certification.
• Communicate clearly with customers about services performed and any repairs.
• Keep accurate service tickets and documentation for each service call.

About the Opportunity

Guardian Fire Protections is currently hiring Apprentice for the Fire Alarm division. This is a great opportunity to learn a growing and in demand trade. We will train you to become a licensed, certified Fire Alarm Technician.

We are looking for hard working and hands‑on individuals that want to learn a new trade in the fire protection industry. The fire protection industry is in high demand and it can be a long term career that with training, certification and years of quality hard work.

Compensation

• This is an Hourly position and the pay rate is contingent experience and background. It will be discussed during the interview process.


• Potential Quarterly Bonuses


• All hours worked between 6 pm and 5 am, paid at the time and half rate for every day of the week

• Ability to work overhead and in unusual or small spaces such as attics and crawl spaces


• Skills to communicate well with customers and explain the work being done and any repairs that are necessary.


• Skills to write well and be very detailed in your write up on service work.


• Must be well organized and be able to keep track of service tickets and process all required documents for each service performed.
