Job summary

Wiginton Fire Systems is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to program, commission, service, and inspect fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA standards and manufacturer specifications. Join a 100% employee-owned company focused on safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of fire alarm service and inspection experience.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA standards and fire alarm panel systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to perform physical work (lifting, climbing, outdoors).

Responsibilities

  • Program and commission newly installed fire alarm systems.
  • Install and terminate low-voltage fire alarm equipment in NFPA/local-code compliance.
  • Conduct functional testing and system verification.
  • Perform inspections, troubleshoot deficiencies, and diagnose issues.
  • Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
  • Educate customers on system operation and maintenance.
  • Complete detailed inspection and service reports accurately and on time.
  • Provide oversight and direction to helpers and junior installers.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, professional jobsite.

Position Summary

The Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for programming, commissioning, servicing, and inspecting fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA standards and manufacturer specifications. This position plays a critical role in ensuring system reliability, life safety compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program and commission newly installed fire alarm systems
  • Install and terminate low-voltage fire alarm equipment in compliance with NFPA and local codes
  • Conduct functional testing and system verification
  • Perform inspections, troubleshoot deficiencies, and diagnose system issues
  • Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and product manuals
  • Educate customers on system operation and preventative maintenance
  • Complete detailed inspection and service reports accurately and on time
  • Provide oversight and direction to helpers and junior installers
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional jobsite
Qualifications
