Job description

We are currently seekingexperienced Fire Alarm Technicians for service and projectassignments within the 4-6 hour radius of where you live. Candidatesmust be comfortable with day or night shifts and willing to travelfor up to 4 weeks at a time.

This role works primarily atWalmart stores to install new or upgraded fire alarm panels andassociated devices, including CCTV and Access Control systems. Therole requires expertise in installing commercial fire alarm panelsand devices, along with strong troubleshooting skills.

Ideal candidates will beself-driven and dependable, capable of working independently andadept at problem-solving to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.We offer long-term employment with competitive compensation and acomprehensive benefits package that emphasizes our commitment to ourteam members.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, or upgrade firealarm systems and program control panels according to building plansand electrical layouts.
  • Mountsensors at appropriate locations, including drilling holes forcabling and accessing crawlspaces or attics.
  • Ensureall work complies with current codes and regulations.
  • Runlow voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drillingconcrete walls and limited conduit work.
  • Completeall wiring, connections, and equipment installations to ensurecompliance with electrical and fire codes.
  • Testnewly installed fire alarm systems and component devices to ensurethey are operational.
  • Troubleshootnew system installations to ensure proper functioning and compliancewith local, county, state, or federal codes, and legal and/orinsurance requirements.

Requirements:

  • NICET certification (Preferred,but not required)
  • Current/validstate-required Physical Security license and/or Life Safety licensein the applicable technology
  • Experiencereading blueprints and site maps
  • Knowledgeof NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72
  • Experiencewith burglar alarms, access control, and CCTV is a plus
  • Excellentcustomer relationship and communication skills, both verbal andwritten
  • Proficiencyin troubleshooting switches, WiFi, and routers
  • Certificationto operate a BOOM or scissor lift, with the ability to work atheights
  • Basictelecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation
  • Validdriver's license with a clean driving record (no DUI or DWI in thelast three years)
