Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally in Lincoln, NE area.
• Experience in fire alarm installation, inspection, testing, or maintenance; military or life safety background considered a plus.

Responsibilities

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Fire Alarm Technician role based in Lincoln, NE. The Fire Alarm Technician will install, program, test, inspect, and maintain fire alarm and related life safety systems in commercial and institutional facilities. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting plans and specifications, performing system diagnostics, troubleshooting devices and control panels, and documenting work in accordance with company and code requirements. The technician will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other technicians to ensure systems meet NFPA and local code standards, while coordinating with clients and site contacts to schedule work and minimize disruption. The role also involves providing clear communication to customers about system status, needed repairs, and recommendations for upgrades, and maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality on every job site.

Qualifications

• Experience with low voltage system wiring for fire alarm and related life safety technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for alarm systems, control panels, detection devices, and communication interfaces.
• Knowledge of alarm systems and life safety principles, including NFPA codes, local regulations, and industry best practices.
• Customer service skills to communicate clearly with clients, explain technical issues, and represent the company professionally on-site.
• Relevant certifications such as NICET in Fire Alarm Systems or equivalent are highly beneficial.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams, plans, and technical documentation and follow standardized procedures and checklists.
• Reliable work habits, attention to detail, and commitment to safety in field environments, including use of proper PPE.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to job sites in and around Lincoln, NE.
• Previous experience in fire alarm installation, inspection, testing, or maintenance preferred; military or life safety background is a plus.
