Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience with low voltage wiring for fire alarm and life safety technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting for alarm systems, control panels, detectors, and interfaces.
• Knowledge of NFPA codes, local regulations, and industry best practices.
• Customer service skills to communicate clearly with clients on-site.
• NICET Fire Alarm certification or equivalent is advantageous.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams, plans, and technical documentation and follow procedures and checklists.
• Reliable work habits, attention to detail, and commitment to PPE and safety on job sites.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally in Lincoln, NE area.
• Experience in fire alarm installation, inspection, testing, or maintenance; military or life safety background considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret plans and specifications to install and commission fire alarm systems.
• Install, program, test, inspect, and maintain life safety systems in commercial and institutional facilities.
• Diagnose system faults and perform troubleshooting on devices and control panels.
• Document work in accordance with company and code requirements.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other technicians to ensure code-compliant installations.
• Communicate system status, needed repairs, and upgrade recommendations to clients.
