Indiana University is seeking a skilled trades professional to install, repair, and inspect fire suppression systems and associated components. The role includes testing fire alarm wiring, panels, detectors, and related equipment, with focus on safety, codes, and reliability.
Responsibilities include diagnosing hazards, performing routine maintenance, and supporting campus facilities with a broad range of building upkeep tasks as needed.

Installs, repairs, and inspects smoke and fire suppressions systems; inspects tests, and repairs fire alarm wiring, fire alarm panels and peripheral equipment.
Identifies hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
Inspects, repairs, or replaces smoke/heat detectors and sprinkler heads; repairs and tests dry/wet systems; tests fire alarm systems using appropriate diagnostic programs and equipment.
Performs tests on fire pumps and standpipe systems.
Ensures that work is in accordance with relevant codes.
Performs other general building maintenance as assigned.
EDUCATION Required: High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
WORK EXPERIENCE Required: 5 years Verifiable journey level experience in the electrical field OR Certificate in DOL apprenticed electrical trade.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES Required: Valid driver's license and ability to be insured by Indiana University Upon Date of Hire
