Job summary

Siemens in Fremont, CA seeks a Fire Alarm Technician to install, program, start-up, and commission advanced fire alarm equipment across the greater San Francisco area.

You will ensure systems operate correctly, assist with AHJ documentation, and train customers on system operations. The role requires hands-on installation, testing, and coordination with contractors, with NICET certs pursued within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems.
• Must be willing and able to differentiate types/colors of wire; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds (unassisted)
• Must have or obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level I and II within 12 months
• Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Participate in Operational Testing, Verification, Acceptance, and Installation: run routine reports to review system operation, conduct final inspections and testing, installation, system programming, and support customer acceptance and the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
• Assist in customer training on system operations and provide necessary plans and fire safety system documents for as-built drawings; identify code and non-conformance issues and make recommendations for system installation
• Conduct project site communication and coordination by supporting scheduling trade contractors to coordinate start-up services and adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures

Our Fire Alarm Systems Technicians are responsible for the installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of state-of-the-art fire alarm equipment, including fire safety, mass notification, detectors, and field peripherals. Our Fire Alarm Technicians are the face of Siemens, and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help keep their buildings and occupants safe.

As aFire Alarm Technician, you will:

Basic Qualifications:

The pay range for this position is $61,547 - $105,509 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
