Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is hiring a Fire Alarm and Suppression Technician in Westlake, LA. The role involves installing, testing, inspecting, and maintaining fire alarm and suppression systems to NFPA standards, with strong emphasis on safety, quality, and customer service.

The technician will read blueprints, coordinate with project teams, and mentor apprentices while maintaining equipment and responding to service calls as part of a field team.

Qualifications

• Journeyman-level experience in fire alarm and/or fire suppression systems.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and standards applicable to fire protection.
• Ability to program, test, and service fire alarm and suppression equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, test, inspect, service, and repair fire alarm systems and components.
• Install and maintain fire suppression systems and interfaces where applicable.
• Troubleshoot system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Document inspections, service tickets and time entries accurately.
• Interface with customers, contractors, inspectors and AHJs professionally.
• Mentor apprentices and participate in on-call emergency responses as needed.
