Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Alarm and Suppression Journeyman to install, service, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm and suppression systems in accordance with codes and company procedures.

The ideal candidate will have Journeyman experience, knowledge of NFPA standards, and the ability to work independently or in a team while prioritizing safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Journeyman-level experience in fire alarm and/or fire suppression systems.
• Valid license or certification as required by state/local rules.
• NICET certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, inspect, service, and repair fire alarm systems and components.
• Install and service fire suppression systems and interfaces.
• Troubleshoot to identify deficiencies and recommend fixes.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, AHJ, and manufacturer specs.
• Document inspection reports and service tickets accurately.
• Interact professionally with customers and inspectors.
• Read blueprints and technical manuals; coordinate with project teams.
• Participate in on-call rotations and safety programs.
