Job summary

Patriot Fire Protection, Inc. is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to ensure fire alarm systems are reliable, code-compliant, and properly maintained across Tacoma and surrounding areas.

The role covers inspections, testing, fault diagnosis, and on-call emergency responses. A valid EL-06 license and several years of experience in fire alarm work are required or preferred as listed; opportunities for growth and limited install work may arise.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• EL-06 License is required.
• NICET II is preferred but not required.
• 4+ years in fire alarm inspection, testing, maintenance, and/or repair.
• 2+ years in fire alarm installation (preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of NEC (low voltage) and NFPA 72.
• Familiarity with water-based fire sprinkler systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Inspection & Testing: perform scheduled inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on fire alarm systems.
• Troubleshooting & Repair: diagnose and repair system faults and nuisance alarms.
• Emergency Response: respond promptly to emergency service calls, on-call rotation.
• Compliance: ensure compliance with NFPA standards and AHJ requirements.
• Documentation: complete inspection and correction reports for code compliance.
• Customer Service: clearly convey system operation and needed corrections to customers.
• Professional Growth: opportunities to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
