Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Service Technician to independently perform core service and maintenance on fire alarm systems. You will diagnose issues, follow drawings and manuals, and ensure compliance with codes and company policies.

The role requires 3+ years in fire and life safety, a clean driving record, and the ability to guide junior technicians. Travel to diverse job sites and work across commercial, industrial, and construction environments are expected.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3+ years in the fire and life safety industry as a technician.
  • NICET Level 2 or above preferred.
  • Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, components, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm systems independently.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
  • Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
  • Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform required tasks.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
  • Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and inspection records.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
  • Identify potential system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance and support to entry-level technicians as needed.
  • Travel to job sites as required.
  • Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
