Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to independently perform the service, maintenance, and inspection of fire alarm systems. You will apply industry knowledge and troubleshooting skills to ensure systems operate in compliance with codes and standards.

You will diagnose issues, complete service calls, and interpret drawings while traveling to job sites in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a technician.
• FAL required.
• Additional fire alarm certifications a plus.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems and troubleshooting methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, service and inspection of fire alarm systems independently.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
• Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
• Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform required tasks.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
• Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and inspection records.
• Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Identify potential system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment on job sites.
• Provide guidance and support to entry-level technicians as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
