Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Service Technician to independently perform service and maintenance on fire alarm systems across diverse settings.

You will diagnose issues, interpret drawings, and ensure work complies with codes while maintaining detailed service records. A clean driving record and NICET certification are valued assets, with opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 3+ years in the fire and life safety industry as a technician.
• NICET Level 2 or higher certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems and troubleshooting methods.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm systems independently.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
• Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
• Interpret system drawings, specifications, and manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform tasks.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and company policies.
• Accurately complete service reports and inspection records.
• Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Provide guidance and support to entry-level technicians as needed.
• Work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
