Job summary

Shambaugh & Son, L.P. seeks a Fire Alarm Service Technician to join our Fort Wayne Fire Protection team. You will inspect, test, install, commission, troubleshoot and repair fire alarm systems in commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities.

Strong technical troubleshooting and the ability to read system drawings are essential. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing to high work areas, and occasional weekend hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; technical degree preferred.
• NICET certification preferred.
• Experience with Fire/Life Safety systems and low voltage installations.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications accurately.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working at heights.
• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm, suppression and releasing systems.
• Read project documents and determine information needed.
• Manage daily call activity and program system products.
• Prepare paperwork and forms for customer service activities.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, software/systems, programs, and manuals.
• Other duties as assigned.
