Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to independently perform installation and service on fire alarm systems across commercial, industrial, and construction environments. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, documentation, and adherence to codes and company policies.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in fire and life safety, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to guide junior technicians. A clean driving record may be required for travel to sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3+ years in fire and life safety as a technician.
• NICET Level I or higher preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation and maintenance / service of fire alarm systems independently.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
• Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
• Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform required tasks.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
• Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and inspection records.
• Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Identify potential system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment on job sites.
• Provide guidance and support to entry-level technicians as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
