Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to independently perform core service and maintenance tasks on fire alarm systems across commercial, industrial, and construction environments. You will diagnose issues, interpret drawings, and ensure codes and standards compliance while documenting service reports.

The role requires a minimum of 3+ years in the industry, a strong troubleshooting mindset, and the ability to work with limited supervision.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years in fire and life safety industry as a technician.
  • NICET Level I+ preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm systems independently.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
  • Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment on job sites.
  • Travel to job sites as required.
  • Provide guidance to entry-level technicians as needed.
  • Accurately complete service reports and inspection records.

Build your career with the industry-leading fire, life safety and security company.The Fire Alarm Service Technician is a role responsible for independently performing core technical functions related to the service of fire alarm systems. This position is capable of completing standard service and maintenance tasks without direct supervision. The technician applies industry knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and best practices to ensure systems are operating in compliance with applicable codes and standards.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm systems independently.Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform required tasks.Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and inspection records.Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.Identify potential system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.Maintain a clean and safe work environment on job sites.Provide guidance and support to entry-level technicians as needed.Travel to job sites as required.Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.Performs other duties as assigned by management.Education/Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a technician.NICET Level I or above preferred.Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, components, and troubleshooting methods.Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.If Driving Role: Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license.Other Duties:Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.Performs other duties as assigned by management.Physical Requirements:Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.Ability to lift 50+ pounds.Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.Benefits and Perks:Excellent payCompany vehicle (if job applicable)Paid company holidaysTraining and Career Development401K with employer matchPye-Barker Fire & Safety is an Equal Opportunity Employer
