Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician in Florida to independently service and maintain fire alarm systems. You will diagnose issues, perform standard service calls, and interpret drawings and manuals. Travel to various job sites in commercial, industrial, and construction settings is required.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in fire and life safety, NICET I+ preferred, and strong troubleshooting and organizational skills. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a technician.
  • NICET Level I or above preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm systems independently.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
  • Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
  • Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform required tasks.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
  • Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and inspection records.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
  • Identify potential system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Travel to job sites as required.
  • Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.

This position is capable of completing standard service and maintenance tasks without direct supervision. The technician applies industry knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and best practices to ensure systems are operating in compliance with applicable codes and standards.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm systems independently.Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform required tasks.Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and inspection records.Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.Identify potential system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.Maintain a clean and safe work environment on job sites.Provide guidance and support to entry-level technicians as needed.Travel to job sites as required.Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.Performs other duties as assigned by management.Education/Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a technician.NICET Level I or above preferred.FASA/BASA preferred.Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, components, and troubleshooting methods.Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.If Driving Role: Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license.Other Duties:Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.Performs other duties as assigned by management.Physical Requirements:Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.Ability to lift 50+ pounds.Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.Pay:$22 to $24 DOEWeekly Pay.Benefits and Perks:Excellent payMedical, dental, visionCompany paid life insuranceCompany paid short-term disability401K with employer matchPaid vacation and company holidaysTraining and Career DevelopmentCompany vehicle (if job applicable)Immediate qualification for the ALL In Ownership Plan for all eligible full-time employeesPye-Barker Fire & Safety is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
