Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in McAllen, TX seeks a Fire Alarm Service Technician to independently perform core service and maintenance tasks on fire alarm systems, complying with codes and safety standards.

The role requires at least 3 years in fire and life safety, a FAL license, clean driving record, and the ability to troubleshoot, read drawings, and mentor entry-level technicians. Travel to job sites and a company vehicle may apply.

Qualifications

• FAL license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3+ years of fire and life safety industry experience as a technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, components, and troubleshooting methods.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.
• Clean driving record and active driver’s license.

Responsibilities

The Fire Alarm Service Technician is a role responsible for independently performing core technical functions related to the service of fire alarm systems. This position is capable of completing standard service and maintenance tasks without direct supervision. The technician applies industry knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and best practices to ensure systems are operating in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
