Job summary

Century Fire Protection in Elberton, GA is seeking a full-time Fire Alarm Technician to install, retrofit and service fire alarm systems. Travel up to 25% is required. You will perform testing, troubleshooting and inspections, ensuring compliance with NEC and NFPA 72 standards.

Qualifications

• Associate or technical degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years in related field.
• NICET I or II preferred; NEC/NFPA 72 knowledge required; experience with Notifier panels a plus.
• Basic computer skills; proficiency with laptops/tablets for service reporting.

Responsibilities

Overview

Position: Full-Time Fire Alarm Technician. Location: Century Fire Protection, Elberton, GA 30635. Travel: Up to 25%.

Summary: Responsible for fire alarm installations, retrofits, tenant build-outs, testing, servicing, inspection and repair; on-site emergency troubleshooting; identifying code and non-conformance issues; preparing accurate service tickets and reports.

Responsibilities

• Program and commission newly installed fire alarm systems.
• Layout, assemble and install low voltage equipment for fire alarm systems, ensuring work complies with relevant codes and regulations.
• Test all features and equipment to ensure optimum functioning.
• Perform inspections and diagnose any problems.
• Read, understand, and follow product manuals and educate customers on care and maintenance of systems.
• Write and submit customer status and completion reports.
• Oversee and direct helpers and/or installers.

Qualifications

• Associate or technical degree and 5+ years of experience or equivalent education and experience; including electrical construction such as wiring and conduit installation; knowledge of NEC (National Electric Code) and NFPA 72; experience with Notifier and NICET I or II preferred.
• Basic computer skills; experience working with laptop and/or iPad.
