Job summary

Century Fire Protection LLC in Duluth, GA is seeking a full-time Fire Alarm Technician to install, commission, test and service Notifier systems. Responsibilities include on-site troubleshooting, inspecting systems, and preparing service tickets and reports.

You will read manuals, educate customers on care and maintenance, and oversee helpers. NEC/NFPA 72 knowledge and NICET I/II pref. High school diploma required; basic laptop/iPad skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; electrical construction experience including wiring and conduit installation is preferred.
• Knowledge of NEC and NFPA 72; experience with Notifier and NICET I or II preferred.

Responsibilities

• Program and commission Notifier fire alarm systems.
• Layout, install and wire low-voltage equipment for fire alarm systems.
• Test features and equipment for reliable operation.
• Inspect systems and diagnose issues.
• Educate customers on system care and maintenance.
• Prepare customer status and completion reports.
• Oversee helpers and installers.

Summary

Responsible for fire alarm installations, retrofits, and tenant build-outs, testing, servicing, inspection and repair; performing on-site emergency troubleshooting programming, identifying code and non-conformance issues, and preparing accurate and timely service tickets and reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Program and commission newly installed Notifier fire alarm systems.
• Layout, assemble and install, low voltage equipment for fire alarm systems, ensuring work complies with relevant codes and regulations.
• Test all features and equipment to ensure optimum functioning.
• Perform inspections and diagnose any problems.
• Read, understand, and follow product manuals and educate customers on care and maintenance of systems.
• Write and submit customer status and completion reports.
• Oversee and direct helpers and/or installers.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent education and experience; including electrical construction including wiring and conduit installation; knowledge of NEC (National Electric Code) and NFPA 72; experience with Notifier and NICET I or II preferred.

Computer Skills

Basic computer skills; experience working with laptop and/or iPad.
