Job summary

SuperHero Fire Protection, LLC is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to inspect, test, troubleshoot, service, and repair fire alarm and life safety systems for reliable operation and code compliance. You will work in the field with customers, document findings, and coordinate with the service team to deliver timely service.

You will perform inspections per NFPA 72, diagnose issues, perform repairs, and support customers with professional explanations and paperwork, including test reports

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical/trade schooling a plus.
• 2+ years of experience servicing, troubleshooting, or installing fire alarm systems (commercial).
• Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and basic electrical principles; NEC/NFPA 70 familiarity a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, riser diagrams, device layouts, and manufacturer documentation.
• Proficient with computers/mobile devices for service documentation and communication.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Strong customer service, communication, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems and life safety devices per NFPA 72 and AHJ requirements.
• Troubleshoot alarms, diagnose wiring, power, and programming issues; complete repairs.
• Service fire alarm control panels and peripheral devices.
• Perform system functional testing and support acceptance/re-inspections with AHJs.
• Explain findings to customers and provide corrective action recommendations for proposals.
• Complete accurate service documentation using company forms/software.
• Coordinate with service coordinator/dispatch for scheduling and parts availability.
• Maintain service vehicle, tools, and test equipment; keep inventory organized.
• Follow safety requirements and maintain a clean, professional work area.
• Provide basic customer training on system operation and maintain customer relationships.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency service calls.
• Assist with small installs, device replacements, and system upgrades when assigned.
