Job summary

Johnson Controls in San Diego is seeking a Fire Detection Systems Technician 4 to install, program, troubleshoot, configure, and service Fire Alarm, Access Control, and CCTV systems at customer sites, including panel repair and networked fire systems.

You will read blueprints, interpret submittals, supervise installation, and participate in after-hours service. A valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50–70 lbs, and 3–4 years of low voltage experience are required; HS diploma required.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of experience in low voltage electrical systems including Fire/Life Safety, Access Control, CCTV and Security Systems.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Ability to lift 50–70 lbs and work in confined or elevated spaces.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, and service Fire Alarm, Access Control and CCTV systems at customer sites.
• Organize and effectively utilize technical resources to complete tasks."
• Program fire alarm, security, and access control panels, focusing on networked fire systems.
• Respond to service calls promptly and troubleshoot as needed; participate in after-hours program.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and specifications; supervise installation to meet specs.
