Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Alarm and Security Service Technician to independently perform core technical tasks related to service of fire alarm and security systems. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and complete service calls with minimal supervision, using system drawings and manuals to ensure compliance with codes and standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 3+ years in fire and life safety, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a technician.
• NICET Level I or above is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm and security systems independently.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
• Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
• Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform required tasks.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
• Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and inspection records.
• Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
