Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Spokane, WA is seeking an experienced technician to independently install fire alarm systems, security systems, and other low-voltage equipment in accordance with plans and codes.

You will read blueprints, perform system testing, and troubleshoot while maintaining safety standards. This role requires 3+ years in the field and a valid driver’s license; NICET preferred. Travel to jobs is required and training will be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3+ years in fire and life safety as an apprentice or technician.
• Ability to work independently on standard installation jobs.
• WA 06 and ID Limited Energy required.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license if driving is required.

Responsibilities

• Independently install fire alarm systems, security systems, and other low voltage systems in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Complete standard installation projects without direct supervision.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Perform system testing and basic troubleshooting.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete installations.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies.
• Coordinate with team members, contractors, and project stakeholders as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
• Train and support entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
