Job summary

Cunningham Security Systems is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our on-site team in Falmouth, Maine. You will service fire alarm and security systems, perform inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting, while ensuring customer safety and compliance.

The role emphasizes hands-on technical work, independence, and professional customer interactions. Training and certification opportunities are available to grow in the life-safety field.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in fire alarm, low voltage, electrical, or security systems preferred.
• NICET or IPSI certification is a plus.
• Willingness to obtain industry certifications if not already certified.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and testing of fire alarm and security systems.
• Inspect smoke detectors, motion sensors, alarm panels, and related equipment.
• Replace batteries and perform preventative maintenance services.
• Troubleshoot minor system issues and identify potential concerns.
• Complete accurate digital inspection reports and service documentation.
• Utilize software platforms including Sedona and BuildingReports.
• Communicate professionally with customers on-site.
• Coordinate with internal service and support teams as needed.
• Maintain organized records and follow inspection procedures carefully.

What You’ll Be Doing

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in fire alarm, low voltage, electrical, or security systems work preferred

• Ability to work independently in the field

Pay Range
