Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks an installer to support electronic product line installations and standard systems. You will assist with startup, testing, and following written and verbal instructions, reading complex blueprints and diagrams.

You will carry equipment up to 40 pounds and may work from ladders or scaffolds, maintaining safety and cleanliness on site. This role requires 1 year of relevant experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Fire Alarm and/or Security System experience.
• FAL license preferrred - must be able to obtain it within 6 months.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Follow verbal and written instructions, read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams and specifications used in installation activities.
• Construction experience required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Successful completion of drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assists the responsible person in performing the required duties for completion of install related tasks for electronic product lines and standard electronic systems.
• Observes the actions of the responsible person(s) and applies as directed.
• Helping with installation of electronic systems, including start up through final testing.
• Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet or more.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area. Pick up and properly dispose of all trash associated with SimplexGrinnell work.
• Wear appropriate safety equipment as required, including but not limited to hard hats and work boots.
• May be required to work alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer installation requirements.
• Perform other duties as requested.
• Daily submission of required paperwork.
