Pye-Barker Fire & Safety seeks a skilled fire alarm technician to independently install systems in accordance with plans, specs, and applicable codes. You will read blueprints, perform testing, troubleshoot basics, and ensure safety compliance on every site.

Travel to various job sites is required. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 3+ years in the fire and life safety industry, and a clean driving record. We support training, career development, and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Ability to work independently on standard installation jobs.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, installation practices, and applicable codes.
• FAL required.
• Clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Responsibilities

• Independently install fire alarm systems per plans and codes.
• Complete standard installation projects without direct supervision.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Perform system testing and basic troubleshooting.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment for installations.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and policies.
• Coordinate with team members and stakeholders as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
• Train and support entry-level technicians and apprentices.
