Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Mobile, AL is seeking an experienced fire alarm technician to independently install systems according to plans, specs, and current codes. You will read blueprints, perform testing, and ensure safety standards on every project.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years in fire and life safety industry as a technician.
• NICET Level II or above preferred.
• May hold applicable state or local licenses where required.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license if driving is required.

Responsibilities

• Install fire alarm systems independently per plans, specs, and codes.
• Complete installation projects without direct supervision.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings.
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and verification.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete installations.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Coordinate with team members, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and training to entry-level technicians and apprentices.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
