Job summary

RCM Fire, a Guardian Fire Services Company, seeks a skilled Fire Alarm Installer/Technician to install and upgrade fire alarm systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The role requires knowledge of fire safety regulations, electrical systems, and hands-on technical skills to ensure proper system operation and compliance.

Qualifications

Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, electrical wiring, and low-voltage circuitry.
Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities to identify and resolve system issues.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and system manuals.
Familiarity with NFPA 72, NEC, and IBC codes and regulations.
State Fire Alarm technician certification (Blue Card) or willingness to test within 6 months.

Responsibilities

Install new fire alarm systems (N/C, Retrofit, TI) per drawings and addenda.
Modernize or upgrade outdated systems with new technology.
Provide end-of-day/status updates to the Department Superintendent.
Perform basic programming for electronic components of fire alarm systems.
Collaborate with technicians, electricians, managers, subcontractors and inspectors to ensure compliance.
