Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc is seeking a Fire Alarm Inspector I apprentice to learn and perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems under experienced technicians. You will gain hands-on experience with fire alarm, sprinkler, and detection systems while following safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes mentorship, formal training, and progression toward becoming a proficient Fire Protection Technician, with opportunities for growth and professional certification support.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED and 1+ years of relevant experience.
• Above average attention to detail and professional work ethic.
• Ability to function in a controlled, effective manner under stress.
• Strong communication with customers, field personnel, and sub-contractors.
• This position requires an additional client background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians with installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems.
• Shadow experienced technicians during site visits to learn best practices.
• Participate in training sessions to develop foundational knowledge of fire protection components.
• Perform routine inspections and testing of fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
• Assist in installation, maintenance, and upgrades of fire alarm systems as needed.
• Document system inspections, maintenance activities, test results, and repairs.
• Learn to handle tools and equipment essential for fire protection systems.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations on-site and during training.
