Job summary

M.C. Dean is hiring a Fire Alarm Inspector I as an apprentice to learn and perform tasks related to fire protection systems, including alarm, detection, and suppression components.

You will work closely with experienced inspectors, gaining hands-on experience while following safety procedures. Responsibilities include assisting with inspections, testing, and maintenance, documenting results, and participating in trainings to build a solid foundation in fire protection technology and compliance.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED and 1+ years of relevant experience.
• Above average attention to detail and professional work ethic.
• Ability to function under stress with a high quality of work.
• Strong communication with customers, field personnel, office staff and subcontractors.
• This position requires an additional client background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians with installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems.
• Shadow experienced technicians during site visits to learn best practices.
• Participate in training sessions to develop foundational knowledge of fire protection components.
• Perform routine inspections and testing of fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
• Assist in installation, maintenance, and upgrades of fire alarm systems as needed.
• Document inspections, maintenance, test results, and repairs.
• Learn to operate tools and equipment used in fire protection systems.
• Adhere to safety protocols on site and during training.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors to support project tasks.
