Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a Fire Alarm Technician to test and inspect alarm systems in the Hagerstown/Frederick, MD area. You will document work, adhere to safety policies, and lift up to 70 lbs while following instructions and maintaining a clean work area.

Required are a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and basic computer skills (Excel/Word/Outlook). NICET I within 1 year is preferred; weekend shifts may be needed. Competitive benefits package included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• NICET I certification expected within 1 year.
• Installation or Service Experience in testing and inspecting Fire Alarm Equipment.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Excellent communication and organization.
• Physical ability to perform labor and lift up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to work with little supervision and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills: Excel, Word, Outlook; smartphone skills.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect fire alarm systems with existing and new customer base.
• Maintain proper documentation for work performed using tools provided.
• Must adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs.
• Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions; climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment.
• Must be able to work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer needs.
• Must perform all duties in a safe and professional manner & maintain a clean and safe work area.
