Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to test and inspect fire alarm systems for customers in the Hagerstown and Frederick, MD area.

The role requires the ability to perform physical labor and work from ladders or lifts, with a focus on safety and documentation. Candidates should have a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and a valid driver’s license; NICET I must be obtained within 1 year of employment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• NICET I within 1 year of employment.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean record.
• Basic computer skills: Excel, Word, Outlook; plus smartphone use.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect fire alarm systems for new and existing customers.
• Document work performed using provided tools.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Carry/move equipment and tools up to 70 lbs.
• Work in unusual positions: ladders, scaffolding, high lifts.
• Possibly work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer needs.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area while performing duties.
