Job summary
Siemens Mobility in the Denver/Lakewood area is seeking a Fire Inspector to perform inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, following NFPA72 and local codes, while mentoring entry-level inspectors.
You will maintain documentation, generate reports, train customer personnel, manage tools and equipment in vehicles, and work overtime/on-call as needed, contributing to public safety and building protection.

- Able to work around mechanical/electrical equipment in various environments.
Responsibilities
- Follow structured inspection schedules; inspect, test, and perform minor repairs per NFPA72 and codes; note deficiencies and review pricing with customers.
- Maintain complete documentation of tests; generate reports and upload to city websites.
- Provide on-site instructions to customer personnel regarding operation and routine inspections; assist with training.

Fire Inspectors play a vital role in preventing, detecting, and mitigating the impact of fires. You will perform tasks such as minor repairs and visual and functional testing on fire alarm systems in accordance with all national and local standards. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also act as a mentor, providing on-the-job training to entry level fire alarm inspectors, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing within our team. Our fire inspectors significantly contribute to public safety, property protection, and overall emergency preparedness.
- Follow andmaintainhigh structured inspection schedules providing inspection, testing, and performing minor service and deficiency repairs for fire alarm equipment tocomply withNFPA72 standards as well as state and local codes. Note deficiencies, remedies, and review pricing with customers. Complete service ticket documentation before leaving thecustomersite. Follow-up on corrective actions
- Maintain complete andaccuratedocumentation of all tests performed. Generate reports within Siemens tools and upload to city municipality websites
- Provideinstructions to customer personnelregardingproper operation and routine inspections.Assistwith training
- Work overtime when needed, andmaintainstock, tools, and equipment in vehicles
- Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures
- Complete required training and certifications within the time requirements for this role
Basic Qualifications:
- 2+years’ experience performing Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of Fire Alarm and/or Fire Life Safety Systems
- Must be willing and able to work the on-call rotation and overtime as needed
- Ability and willingness to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical and electrical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment, working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop (Microsoft proficient) , email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
- Must be able to differentiate types/colors of wire
- Must be 18 years of age andpossessa valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements toparticipatein Siemens' fleet vehicle program
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
- 5+ years’ experience performing Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of Fire Alarm and/or Fire Life Safety Systems
- Must obtain NICET II Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems within 12 months
- Ability to read/understand design and construction documents

The pay range for this position is $30.28 - $47.79 per hour . The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
