Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Field Inspector to perform routine inspections, testing, service and maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life-safety products for customers, including data centers and healthcare facilities.

The role requires physical work, adherence to safety policies, and the ability to climb ladders and lift up to 70 lbs; weekend shifts may be required, with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to obtain NICET I within 12 months.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Able to perform physical labor and lift up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical, sprinkler, or suppression life-safety product lines.
• Test and inspect fire alarm systems for existing and new customers.
• Maintain documentation of work performed using provided tools.
• Follow safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Work in sometimes difficult positions and conditions (ladder, scaffolding).
• Carry/move equipment weighing up to 70 lbs.
• Potentially work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer needs.

What you will do

Inspectors are responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life safety product lines as well as similar competitive manufacturers’ product lines.

How you will do it

• Test and inspect fire alarm systems with existing and new customer base.
• Maintain proper documentation for work performed using tools provided
• Must adhere to company safety policies and procedures
• Follow verbal and written instructions
• Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs
• Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions; such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment
• Must be able to work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer needs
• Must perform all duties in a safe and professional manner & maintain a clean and safe work area

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $21-28 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.)
