Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an Inspector to perform routine inspections, testing and service on Simplex Fire Alarm Systems and related products.

You will work with low voltage wiring, document findings, and follow a structured inspection schedule in a fast-moving environment. Responsibilities include conducting tests for new and existing customers, maintaining accurate records via laptops or mobile devices, adhering to safety policies, and sometimes working weekends or extended shifts to

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Installation or Service Experience in testing and inspecting Fire Alarm Equipment preferred.
• Self-starter with ability to work with little supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test fire alarm systems for existing and new customers.
• Maintain documentation of work performed using provided tools.
• Follow safety policies and procedures and work in a safe manner.
• Input inspection data via laptop or mobile device.
• Be able to climb ladders, scaffolding, and work in challenging positions.
• Occasionally work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer needs.

What you will do

Inspectors are responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Simplex Fire Alarm Systems as well as similar competitive manufacturers’ product lines. Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices for the operation of low voltage equipment. Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices such as laptop computers and/or hard copy. Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule. Input, retrieve and archive inspection documents via mobile device. Complete assigned inspections on time. Perform other duties as assigned.

How you will do it

• Test and inspect fire alarm systems with existing and new customer base.
• Maintain proper documentation for work performed using tools provided
• Must adhere to company safety policies and procedures
• Follow verbal and written instructions
• Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs
• Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions; such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment
• Must be able to work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer needs
• Must perform all duties in a safe and professional manner & maintain a clean and safe work area

HIRING HOURLY RANGE:

$20-$26 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.)
