Fire Fighter Sales & Service Co. is seeking a Fire Alarm Systems Service Technician - Level 2 in Warrendale, PA to install, inspect, test, and repair fire alarm and life-safety systems.

You will work both independently and with a team, ensuring NFPA compliance and high-quality workmanship, with on-call duties and safety above all. The role requires NICET II and Notifier license within specified timelines, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to read schematics and blueprints.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Must obtain NICET Level II certification in testing and inspection within one year of hire.
• Ohio Fire Marshal License preferred at hire but required within one year of employment.
• Must obtain a Notifier programming license within six months of entering this role.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with multimeters and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Job Summary:** The Fire Alarm Systems Service Technician - Level 2 is responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fire alarm systems and related life safety equipment. This role involves working independently and as part of a team to ensure systems are installed and maintained in compliance with NFPA codes, local regulations, and manufacturer specifications. The technician will interact directly with customers, ensuring timely service, clear communication, and high-quality workmanship. This position may also involve emergency on call duties and requires a commitment to safety, professionalism and technical excellence.

• Provide technical details and recommendations to the sales department for quotation development, particularly for resolving code deficiencies or system upgrades.
• Support accurate project documentation by maintaining complete and timely timesheets, billing notes, rescheduling requests, and follow-up documentation.

• Demonstrate reliability by being punctual and consistently delivering a full day's work.

QualificationsJob Requirements

• Hands‑on experience working with fire alarm systems.
• Must possess or be able to obtain all necessary tooling to perform job functions (tooling provided by company).
• Must obtain NICET Level II certification in testing and inspection within one year of promotion or hire into the position.
• Ohio Fire Marshal License is preferred at hire band required within one year of employment.
• Must obtain a Notifier programming license within six months of entering this role.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose hardware issues using multimeters and other diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, and technical documentation.

• Must be able to pass a drug test and background screening as required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work offsite at customer facilities - clean/unclean conditions, hot/cold environment.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and maneuver 300-lb cylinders using proper tools and techn ques.
• Work at elevated heights, including climbing ladders and operating aerial lifts as required.
• Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, hard hats, and other job-specific safety gear.
• Company uniforms are provided and must be worn while on duty.
• Must maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent the company appropriately while on-site.
• Some overnight travel may be required depending on the project location and schedule.
