Job summary

IES Electrical is seeking a Fire Alarm Helper to assist in installation, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems. You will work with Fire Alarm Technicians and Electricians to ensure work meets safety, code, and customer standards.

Responsibilities include installing components, pulling low-voltage cabling, supporting system tests, and keeping tools and sites clean. Some travel may be required and OSHA-10 or equivalent may be needed.

Qualifications

• 6 months of recent fire alarm/electrical experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification or ability to obtain.
• Pass pre-employment background and MVR checks when operating motor vehicles.

• Assist with installing fire alarm system components, including devices, cable pathways, conduit, and wiring.
• Pull, label, and route low-voltage cabling as directed.
• Assist with proper mounting and installation of conduit, wires, and strapping as directed.
• Support system testing, inspection, and troubleshooting under technician guidance.
• Maintain tools, materials, and job-site cleanliness.
• Work from ladders as needed and follow safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Travel may be required.

• Assists Fire Alarm Technicians and Electricians with installing fire alarm system components, inluding devices, cable pathways, conduit, and wiring
• Pulls, labels, and routes low-voltage cabling as directed
• Assists with the proper mounting and installation of assigned work conduit, wires, and strapping as directed
• Support system testing, inspection, and troubleshooting under the guidance of a technician
• Maintains tools, materials, and job site cleanliness
• Works from all types of ladders
• Complies with all company and customer safety policies and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months recent fire alarm/electrical experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• OSHA 10 or ability to obtain
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.
