Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical in Suffolk, VA is seeking a Fire Alarm Helper for a full-time role assisting Fire Alarm Technicians and Electricians with installation, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems.

You will pull and route low-voltage cabling, help mount conduit and devices, support system testing under supervision, keep tools and work areas organized, and comply with safety policies. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months recent fire alarm/electrical experience.
• OSHA 10 or ability to obtain.
• Background and MVR checks where required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in installing fire alarm components, devices, cabling and wiring.
• Pulls, labels and routes low-voltage cabling as directed.
• Assists with mounting and installation of conduit, wires and strapping.
• Supports testing, inspection and troubleshooting under supervision.
• Keeps tools, materials and site clean and safe.
• Works from ladders and adheres to safety policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Travel may be required.

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical, seeking full-time Fire Alarm Helper in Suffolk, VA.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or work authorization support. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future need for employer sponsorship.

Assists in the installation, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems. Will work closely with Fire Alarm Technicians and Electricians to ensure all work is performed in a safe, compliant and accurate manner following company and customer standards and codes.

Job Summary

• Assists Fire Alarm Technicians and Electricians with installing fire alarm system components, inluding devices, cable pathways, conduit, and wiring
• Pulls, labels, and routes low-voltage cabling as directed
• Assists with the proper mounting and installation of assigned work conduit, wires, and strapping as directed
• Support system testing, inspection, and troubleshooting under the guidance of a technician
• Maintains tools, materials, and job site cleanliness
• Works from all types of ladders
• Complies with all company and customer safety policies and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months recent fire alarm/electrical experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• OSHA 10 or ability to obtain
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.
