IES Electrical, a unit of IES Commercial, Inc., seeks a Fire Alarm Helper in Suffolk, VA to assist experienced technicians in installing and testing fire alarm systems. The role involves routing low-voltage wiring, mounting conduits, and ensuring safe, compliant work practices on site.

Candidates should have at least 6 months of fire alarm/electrical experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to obtain OSHA 10. Travel may be required, and background/MVR checks apply.

• Pass pre-employment background check and MVR when operating vehicles.

Responsabilités

General Job Description

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical, seeking full-time Fire Alarm Helper in Suffolk, VA.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or work authorization support. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future need for employer sponsorship.

Assists in the installation, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems. Will work closely with Fire Alarm Technicians and Electricians to ensure all work is performed in a safe, compliant and accurate manner following company and customer standards and codes.

Job Summary

• Assists Fire Alarm Technicians and Electricians with installing fire alarm system components, inluding devices, cable pathways, conduit, and wiring
• Pulls, labels, and routes low-voltage cabling as directed
• Assists with the proper mounting and installation of assigned work conduit, wires, and strapping as directed
• Support system testing, inspection, and troubleshooting under the guidance of a technician
• Maintains tools, materials, and job site cleanliness
• Works from all types of ladders
• Complies with all company and customer safety policies and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Travel may be required.

Specific Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months recent fire alarm/electrical experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• OSHA 10 or ability to obtain
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.
