Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical is seeking a Fire Alarm Helper for a full-time role in Suffolk, Virginia. The helper will assist in installing, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems, working closely with technicians and electricians to ensure work meets safety standards and codes.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months of fire alarm/electrical experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and OSHA 10 or the ability to obtain it. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months recent fire alarm/electrical experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• OSHA 10 or ability to obtain.
• Successfully pass pre-employment background check and MVR when operating vehicles may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
• Work with Fire Alarm Technicians and Electricians to ensure safety and compliance.
• Assist with installing components, cabling, conduit, and wiring.
• Support system testing, inspection, and troubleshooting under supervision.
• Maintain tools, materials, and job-site cleanliness.
• Travel may be required.
