We are seeking a talented Fire Alarm Field Supervisor to work in our Service group at our headquarters in Arlington, Massachusetts.

Summary of duties and responsibilities

The role includes overseeing fire service/inspection staff, providing technical support to fire staff and key accounts, and ensuring all inspections meet the highest quality standards set by American Alarm, while maintaining a professional and safe work environment. Effective communication with technical staff and customers is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise the fire team directly.
  2. Provide field and phone support for fire technicians.
  3. Manage daily team needs, including motivation and discipline.
  4. Ensure the team has necessary resources such as tools, training, and assistance.
  5. Assist in training new and existing technicians.
  6. Review daily schedules and support technicians at job sites as needed.
  7. Monitor the quality of inspections and service work to ensure safety and standards.
  8. Review and ensure accuracy of fire inspection records and reports.
  9. Oversee timecard processing and approve overtime.
  10. Conduct performance reviews based on productivity, quality, attendance, and technical skills.
  11. Help develop policies, procedures, and guidelines to promote growth and professionalism.
  12. Update manuals, safety protocols, and technical information regularly.
  13. Support key accounts with routine visits.
  14. Recommend corrective actions for customer complaints.
  15. Maintain good relations with sales staff.
  16. Drive a company vehicle, adhere to policies, and maintain the vehicle.
  17. Maintain regular attendance.

Additional Duties:

  1. Research and pursue training opportunities.
  2. Participate in on-call duties as scheduled.
  3. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  4. Obtain necessary security clearances as required.

Equipment used: Ladder, company vehicle, hand tools, meters, telephone headset, soldering iron, pipe bender, Hilti gun, computer, and other tools. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Education: Electronics degree or equivalent work experience. Supervisory experience is a plus. Must be capable of multitasking and working well with others.

Travel: Some out-of-town travel may be required.

License Required: Massachusetts Electricians Journeyman “B” or System Technician “D” license and a valid driver’s license.
