Job summary

Total Fire Protection in Pensacola, FL is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Designer to design systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. You will generate detailed CAD drawings, review contract documents, and coordinate with the project team to ensure feasible, NFPA-compliant solutions.

Responsibilities include developing material lists, maintaining records, and communicating with customers. A NICET is preferred, AutoCAD proficiency required, and a valid driver's license is

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field helpful.
• NICET Certification preferred.
• Two years experience in design and implementation of fire alarm systems.
• In-depth knowledge of NFPA 72, 70, and Florida Fire and Prevention codes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with BlueBeam is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication skills.
• Ability to produce NFPA-compliant submittal drawings.
• Ability to site survey.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Design fire alarm systems for Total Fire Protection projects.
• Develop and prepare detailed CAD drawings for fire alarm and detection systems.
• Review construction contract documents.
• Analyze feasibility and system possibilities for projects.
• Create stock list for materials required.
• Maintain design historical records for future use.
• Develop relationships with customers to meet expectations.
• Coordinate with other departments for handover of job information.
• Perform Project Manager functions as required.
• Complete other assigned responsibilities as directed by supervisor.
