Job summary

Advantage Interests Inc. in Houston seeks a Fire Alarm Designer to design, document, and support fire alarm systems per codes and customer specs. You will prepare drawings, calculations, material lists, and project documentation for ongoing projects.

The ideal candidate has NFPA 72 knowledge, AutoCAD proficiency, NICET II certification or ability to obtain, and strong coordinating skills with field teams and AHJ. This role is based on site in Houston.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years experience in fire alarm systems or related life safety discipline.
• NICET Level II Fire Alarm Systems certification required or obtainable within management timeframe.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire alarm system designs in accordance with NFPA standards and codes.
• Create design drawings and submittal packages using AutoCAD.
• Prepare material and equipment lists from system designs.
• Perform fire alarm system calculations and verify compliance.
• Support field personnel with technical guidance during project execution.
• Review requirements and customer needs to develop effective solutions.
• Communicate project status and design concerns to management.
