Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Fire Alarm Designer to help create safe and efficient fire alarm systems. The role requires reading blueprints, preparing AutoCAD/shop drawings, and coordinating with architects, engineers, and clients in a dynamic environment.

Ideal candidates will design compliant systems using AutoCAD/Blue Beam, apply NICET II or higher, and stay current with standards. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• NICET Certification in Fire Alarm Systems (Level II minimum preferred).
• Experience with Notifier, Siemens, Firelite, or Silent Knight fire alarm systems.
• AutoCAD and Blue Beam experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated, team player with good customer service.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys to assess fire risks and building layouts.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and codes.
• Prepare shop drawings/plans using AutoCAD that meet applicable codes and manufacturer requirements.
• Utilizing CAD software to develop detailed schematics and plans for fire alarm installations.
• Prepare submittals and material lists.
• Communicate with local officials, engineers, architects, and customers.
• Read and interpret blueprints, submittals, specifications, manufacturers manuals, and codes to produce designs and submittals for review by local officials.
• Remain updated on advancements in fire alarm technology and regulations to ensure compliance and optimal system performance.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.

The Fire Alarm Designer will utilize expertise in fire safety codes, engineering principles, and industry standards to design customized fire alarm systems tailored to our clients' needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for enhancing fire safety in various environments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, specifications, manufacturers manuals, and codes to produce designs and submittals to be reviewed by local officials.

Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Compensation:

Compensation: $60,000.00 - $100,00.00 depending on experience Anticipated Close: 11.29.2026
