Job summary

HDR's Building Engineering group is seeking a Fire Alarm Design professional to create plan designs within BIM. You will integrate Revit models, apply NFPA criteria, and generate contract documents from BIM output, coordinating with engineers and architects.

The role requires strong communication, multi‑discipline collaboration, and a readiness to travel to project sites as needed, with opportunities to help advance the FLS team nationwide.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or high school diploma with relevant education and experience.
• NFPA/ICC certifications or related credentials.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Familiar with Fire & Life Safety design principles.

Responsibilities

• Create fire alarm system designs in a BIM model using provided information.
• Generate contract documents from the BIM model and perform additional BIM tasks.
• Integrate design analysis software with Revit and other tools.
• Apply NFPA and industry standards to fire alarm design criteria.
• Lead coordination between consultants, disciplines, and project team members.
