Job summary

Qualifications

• NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems or equivalent desirable.
• REVIT experience strongly desired.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or other industry design software.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and life safety standards.
• Experience with mass notification systems and integrated life safety solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute fire alarm and mass notification system design from concept through construction.
• Develop detailed, code-compliant fire alarm drawings using REVIT, AutoCAD, and/or similar design industry tools.
• Review architectural and engineering drawings to ensure life safety and fire code compliance.
• Act as the owner’s representative for fire alarm systems during design, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Conduct site assessments and field surveys to evaluate existing conditions and fire alarm installations.
• Prepare and review design, shop drawing, and construction submittals for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Support testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities, including preparation of test plans, witnessing tests, and documenting results.
• Coordinate and collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), and internal project teams.
• Interface directly with clients to communicate technical findings, recommendations, and project status.
• Manage technical aspects of projects, including schedules, workload planning, and adherence to approved scopes of work.
• Stay current on applicable codes, standards, and emerging technologies (e.g., NFPA 72, NFPA 70, IBC).
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, including support for NICET development and training.
