Job summary

Power Design Engineering, LLC is seeking an Associate Fire Alarm Designer at our St. Petersburg, FL headquarters. You will review layouts for code compliance and design accuracy while coordinating with project teams and inspectors.

Three+ years in fire alarm design, NICET certification, and AutoCAD/Revit proficiency are required. Knowledge of IBC/IECC codes and high-rise/smoke control is valued. Relocation opportunities may be available and growth paths exist within our design-build practice.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience with fire alarm system design.
• Experience with fire alarm equipment and installation; bachelor's degree preferred.
• NICET certification and understanding of high-density, high-rise, and smoke control.
• Knowledge of local codes and construction safety requirements (IBC/IECC).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Revit and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong communication and teamwork, with a customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the best design solution by applying industry knowledge and quality standards while considering customer needs and budgeting requirements.
• Provide technical assistance for multiple projects during bidding, design, permitting, and construction.
• Provide design direction, support, and guidance to all team members.
• Communicate effectively with customers, project team members, and inspecting authorities.
